NORTHVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT
Northville Schools Mission Statement:
Northville Public Schools strives to ensure opportunities for students to
demonstrate skills, knowledge and attitudes for achieving personal success
and for becoming responsible citizens in partnership with parents, staff
and community, in a caring, challenging environment.
Academic Curriculum:
Northville’s commitment to excellence in education begins with a
well-rounded curriculum which incorporates all of the core academic
standards, such as math, science, language arts and social studies, and
encourages fruitful participation in art, music, physical education and
extra-curricular activities.
One of only 50 school systems to receive all A’s on the state of Michigan’s
report card accreditation system, Northville Public Schools offers high
academic standards from preschool to high school – the Early Childhood
Center enables three- and four-year-olds to amply prepare for a lifetime of
learning, and Northville High School graduates consistently earn top
scholarships and matriculate at prestigious universities.
Special Programs:
The ALPS (Alternative Learning Programs for Students) Program offers gifted
and talented students a chance to excel beyond the boundaries of the
typical classroom. Its differentiated curriculum caters to gifted learning
needs, and focuses on “creative thinking, technology, discussion skills,
self-evaluation, literature-based reading integrated with other subjects,
thematic work, and acceleration when appropriate,” enabling students to
learn independently and quickly, from the elementary school’s full-time
magnet program through the integrated middle school program.
